I packed my little point and shoot camera and headed out with the girls.
The companions and I decided we would do our share to participate in supporting small business Saturday at nearby small town Gordonsville, VA.
First stop was in a charming little French restaurant called Pomme.
For our first course, we each selected a different soup. We passed them around so we could have a little of all. Hands down the potato leek and watercress soup was the best and then the French Onion, with the lobster a disappointing least favorite.
Our entrée selections included Salmon on a bed of lentils, Veal Picatta and St. Germain Sole. Again, we passed our plates and agreed they were equally enjoyable. Karen selected a bottle of wine from local King Vineyards to have with our meal, it was a splurge but delicious. We entertained ourselves with great conversation which apparently our waiter got a kick out of too.
Completely satisfied and having out stayed all the other patrons we headed out for a little shopping.
We came to S.H. Merrick a small fashion boutique that reminded me of places I’ve been in Europe – certainly not small town Gordonsville, VA.
This is one of those places that is so beautiful inside, not just the merchandise but the building and the displays. Going to this shop was like taking a mini-vacation.
The dressing screen
Time for a little dress up
Drinking from the fountain – is that allowed?
Somehow we always find time to act silly and let it all hang out!
Oh the camera is down here
Perhaps we better leave before the town asks us to.
Until next time,
Please join my sister and I at the 3 Wishes Studio Holiday Open House and Sale.
