mornin’ y’all

Mornin’ y’all and other suthnisms.

Born to Yankee parents, living in the south.  I like to think I have the best of both worlds.

Early morning quiet time in the herb garden with a cup of coffee and furry babies is my favorite time of the day.

a cat on my lap and one sitting on the bench beside me

and a dog at my feet – doesn’t get any better than this!

Until the bliss is broken

boys will be boys, come on and play – off they go running

Recent mornings the humidity has been high and the mosquitoes swarming, makes the comfort level a little less than enjoyable, just part of living in the south.

The heavy humidity though makes the scent of the magnolia blossoms hang in the air.

magnolia – a must have in any southern garden

I’ll probably get kicked out of the south for saying this – I don’t drink sweet tea.

Y’all come back now.

Until next time,

Cheers!

  1. Reading this post was a great start to my morning! Cats, coffee cup and early mornings are my favorite things as well. But I DO love sweet tea – a guilty pleasure.;-)

  2. I hate it when I show up as “anonymous”!! So I am posting again.

  3. The garden is looking fantastic. Looks so peaceful there with your companions!

I’m a bad southern girl as well – people just look confused when I ask for unsweet tea.

  4. I enjoy being outside as well. It seems like there is a very small window of opportunity though this year. It is warming up rapidly in the mornings and the mosquitoes have been biting here for several weeks now. I am working on my husband to get a screened-in porch with a ceiling fan – I just need to be patient!
