I hesitate to share this adventure as the selfish me wants to keep this seemingly undiscovered place – just that. However, a friend led me to this place, and I know she too feels the same as I do. I thank you sweet dear friend for trusting and sharing the secret with us.
And so, let the story be told.
The three of us took off early in the morning for a girls get-away.
We have a special sister-hood that unites us and each one of us was in need of some healing for our bodies and souls.
We also had a car packed so full, that it looked as though we were going on a six month excursion to outer-ends-of-the-earth.
Meet Mathews County, Virginia.
We rented a house on the Chesapeake Bay, on a little island called Gwynn’s.
Think Mayberry by the Sea.
Here, time has stood still. This is a no big box, no high-rises, sketchy cell phone connection kind of place. Ah Bliss!
This is the kind of place where you can hear your soul speak; and where you believe that your dreams can come true.
This quaint little island spun a web around us and drew us in, held us captive and made us want to dream a few dreams.
We searched the community real estate. If you are going to have fantasy dreams, they might as well include a charming little cottage by the water.
This is the kind of cottage that rocking chair dreams are made of.
We toured a B&B called White Dog Inn, that is for sale – dreamed a little dream about running a business here.
That place made me want to get a white dog and go into business.
Sunrise walks in our PJ’s with coffee in hand.
Hearts in the sand
heart-shaped rocks too
Candlelight and wine
Pink and gold sunsets
Thank goodness for girlfriends and dreams and cottages by the bay.
Until next time,
